My laundry room/office used to be tan with red cabinets. I loved it but as it was located in the basement with one little north facing window, it was too dark and depressing. I lightened it up by painting the walls a light turquoise and the cabinets a creamy white. I kept the red in some of the art work and fabrics. Here is a link to view the before and after.
