I found some more pictures from the Kid Paradise House from the 2011 Salt Lake City Parade of Homes for this week’s “Inspiration”. This week I am sharing pictures of the girls’ rooms. First up (above) the pretty purple room. I love the shade of purple the designer (Joanne Constantine) chose. I am also loving the cute little tutus hung on the wall, so sweet and feminine.

Next up is the very colorful room. It is so bright and cheery. It just makes me happy to look at it (especially if I had a better pictures, sorry!).

And finally here is a picture of the shared Jack-and-Jill bathroom. I love the purple vanity and the shower curtain. I think it is great for both very young and teenage girls, heck, I wouldn’t mind it in my bathroom
. Hope you all have a happy and “Inspired” weekend!

This modern take on the barn door is the entrance to the master bathroom.

I love the pulls on the cabinets. I also love the finish on these cabinets.

The hooks by the shower are a nice touch. Think I’m going to have to do that when I redo my bathroom..

I need this tub. Sigh, maybe one day. Seriously though, isn’t this the perfect “Calgon, take me away!” tub? Thanks for stopping by for this weeks “Inspiration”. Next week I will share a new house. It is pretty spectacular, you won”t want to miss it.

I am continuing my series on the Sleek and Stylish Home for this week’s “Inspiration”. I want to share this bathroom. It is the kids’ bathroom (I will bring you the kids’ bedrroms in the next couple of weeks).

I love this bath because it is bright, bold, and playful for the kids but still fits in with the modern feel of the rest of the house.

I think the accessories really make this room. It’s especially important to add personality with accessories in a utilitarian room like the bathroom. You can add color with towels and texture with a rug or with canisters like above. You can add patterns with a shower curtain or dispensers like below.

Have fun with your kids’ bathroom. Get them involved. It may be the source of many happy memories for both of you for years to come.

For this week’s Inspiration, I am sharing pictures of the bathrooms from the blue and tan house I have been promising. Below is the upstairs bathroom.

What I love about this bathroom is the wallpaper. It is perfect for this house and it is neutral enough to last for years. I also love the way the designers pulled the blue from the wallpaper and used it in the shower curtain and the towels. I also really like the sinks and faucets. They are modern and fresh yet still classic looking. This bathroom also wins points for good space planning. There is plenty of storage and I like the double sinks and the separate room for the toilet and tub so more than one kid can get ready at the same time.

Above is a picture of the master bathroom. I love the way they continued the color theme into this room but just punched it up a bit. The wallpaper is more glamorous. The counters are upgraded as are the tub and shower. There is also just the right blend of masculine and feminine to make both Mom and Dad happy.

And last but not least is the bathroom in basement. This bathroom is just off of the basement family room I featured last week. It is scaled back compared to the other bathrooms because it only serves one bedroom (probably a guest room) and the family room. Even though it is scaled back it still is elegant and flows seamlessly with the other rooms. Next week I will finish up with this house by sharing the bedrooms. Hope this helps any of you looking for fresh ideas. Happy designing!

I just wanted to share a quick update with you. I changed a couple of things in my guest bath. If you remember, when I unveiled this room I had black towels and I had a wooden toilet lid.

I wanted to change the towels because they don’t match. One is quite a bit smaller than the other. That is why I had them tied up like I did for the picture. I bought (matching) grey bath towels. I felt I had enough black and white in the room, They grey cabinets were the only grey in the room and I wanted to repeat the color in another part of the room. The wooden toilet seat was new, but I didn’t get positive feedback on it so I bought a white one as a reader suggested. It is a slow closing type of seat. I thought it would be helpful because my two youngest use this bathroom. It has worked very well, no smashed body parts since I installed it. :-)
