A Beautiful Backsplash

Monday, 17. October 2011

I spotted this backsplash at Ikea.  I love the colors and the texture.  I think it could easily be contemporary or rustic.  I could see this backsplash working with almost any cabinet finish.

I think this would be divine with a honed black granite or soapstone countertop, or maybe even a butcherblock countertop (hint, hint Honey :-) ).

Marble and Glass Backsplash

One of my husband’s Christmas gifts to me was a coupon good for one project around the house.  I have had a terrible time deciding what I would like.  I have so many things on my wish list.  I would like new woods floors.  I would like built in bookshelves surrounding our new fireplace (see here Uncovered Fireplace).  I would like a brick accent wall in the master bedroom and I would like a back splash in the kitchen.  I love the back splash pictured here.  It is in my brother and sister-in-law’s new kitchen.  They sell this back splash at Lowe’s (although I’m sure it is sold several other places).  They have one that is similar but in shades of cream and tan.  Both are so beautiful, but I think the tan and cream would work a little better in my kitchen since I antiqued my bead board cabinets with a brown glaze (see here Painted and Glazed Bead Board Cabinets).   I guess I’d better hurry up and decide, it will be the middle of summer before I get my Christmas present. :-)

Acrylic Backsplash

Wednesday, 13. October 2010

My husband and I took the kids with us to the Deseret News Fall Home show last Sunday.  We went to get inspired to finish some of the projects we have yet tackle around the house.  We found a lot of great products and talked to some very helpful people. The kids stayed happy because everyone we talked to gave them candy or small prizes. My favorite product, by far, was this backsplash.

This backsplash was in the Chris & Dick’s Cabinets and Countertops display.  I talked to their rep. Greg Fisher for a bit.  I would have liked to talk longer but my kids were losing patience very quickly.  Anyway, he told me this is a new product that they have.  The backsplash is acrylic and it can be customized.  I want to do a backsplash in my laundry room.  I was originally thinking about a subway tile but now I really want to do this acrylic backsplash. I am definitely going into their showroom soon.   Here is a closer look.

If you’d like more information you can visit their showroom at 1499 West 3500 South SLC, UT.  Here is the phone number 1-800-999-8737  and a link to their website www.chris-n-dicks.com
