Pillow Makeover and New Bedding
Saturday, 2. June 2012
My husband and I have been married almost nine years now. Can you believe we have never gone shopping for bedding? When we got married we both had comforters, pillows, and bedskirts from our previous marriages (I did buy new sheets and pillow cases when we got married but that’s it). Being practical, we just used what we already had. Now most of that stuff is shabby and not in a chic way. We bought the comforter cover and shams from Ikea last weekend. The bolster on the bench is also from Ikea.
As you can see from the top picture, I have plenty of pillows, just no pillows that coordinate, so I spent the day making pillow covers to help bring the room together. I picked up the striped fabric from Hancock Fabric’s last week when I bought the green fabric I used to reupholster the little bench at the foot of my bed. I’m not going to give a tutorial for the pillow covers. I don’t consider myself a talented seamstress. I can get by and muddle through a project but I feel like there are many more talented people with fabulous tutorials out there.
I’ve got a couple of little things and a couple of big things still to do before I can call this room done. I may mix things up a little though. I’ve got the woodworking bug now and can’t stop thinking about building the rest of my own warehouse cart coffee table. Hope you are having a good weekend!
