Blue Roosters
Wednesday, 7. September 2011
This week’s tablescape is inspired by my new blue rooster plates.
I found these on clearance at Shopko last week. They were on clearance for $.79 each. The plates and the price were too good to pass up. I usually only see those prices at the thrift store.
I paired the new rooster plates with my old everyday Mikasa dinner plates. I’ve had the Mikasa “Country Blue” for 20 years now. I think I have eight settings left but they are getting chipped, as can be seen in the second picture above.
I have several roosters in my kitchen but for this table I used my favorite as the centerpiece. Like a little black dress, this little black rooster goes with everything.
I really wanted to find some pretty chargers to use with this setting but after several days of looking everywhere I came up empty-handed. I did find these place mats at Home Goods for $2 each. I’m going to keep up my search for cute chargers but until then, I’ll get a lot of mileage from these new placements. Thank you for visiting. I am linking to Between Naps on the Porch. Have a great week everyone.

Oh those blue roosters are handsome – especially the squire taking center stage. What a pretty fun table you’ve set.

BLUE roosters!!! I really like them!!! The plates go great with the Mikasa plates and the placemats! This table says, “C’mon in, sit down a spell, and enjoy some good food!” Uh oh…you have a talking table. Better call Dr. Phil!
Have a great weekend!
