Uncovered Fireplace
Wednesday, 21. July 2010
I don’t know if you’d call our house a fixer-upper or not. It was dated to be sure. Dated wallpaper, pastel paint, lace and ruffles on every window, yikes. It’s been three years and we are still updating. This year we decided to uncover the fireplace the pervious owners had dry walled over. We decided to go with a man-made stone and slate. The beaded board on the sides is going to be the back of built-in bookshelves. We are almost done. We need to add a mantel and build the bookshelves. I suppose that I should be thankful that the old fireplace was removed and the firebox walled over so we could start fresh and pick our own finishes. Check out pictures of the process on my husband’s blog…
