Painting Polka Dots and Circles

Wednesday, 16. June 2010

Some of the most fun and rewarding paint projects are for kids’ rooms.  This first one was my kids’ play room.

I made a compass with yard stick for the big circles and a normal ruler for the smaller ones.  For the compass I taped a pencil to one end and a nail to the other.  I placed the nail  (just slightly into the wall)  where I wanted the center of the circle and just rotated the compass until I had a circle.  To make in between size circles move the pencil closer to the nail.

This room I did for my friend’s daughters.  She had already painted the walls pink.  I just added the rings.

I used the same method as above except I drew two lines on the wall and then filled in between the lines to form rings.  Both of these projects were a lot of fun.  They were a little more time consuming then just painting the walls a solid color but well worth the extra effort.
